If anything giving the rights to a State Broadcaster makes everyone smell a rat. The government who own the broadcaster, would be in a position to censor the broadcast. Those kinds of arrangements work in China not in so called free Zambia. CNN and BBC will broadcast the judgement. Kuti? They would broadcast it LATER for the drama. To show their audience how Zambians are struggling with democracy

“Rights have been granted to ZNBC why cant the Private Media buy the rights to RE-BROADCAST?”

Iwe Mulenga stop being a loudmouth smart Alec yet you know nothing. The US Presidential debate tv rights are not sold to anyone. One company hosts for convenience’s sake-of course you would have chaos if all 1,000 broadcasters turned up to carry their own feed. Noone buys.
Instead, the CPD provides a free, non-exclusive live feed to all media platforms, allowing public broadcasters like PBS and NPR to play a crucial role in ensuring universal access. This approach reflects the public service mission of the debates, supporting the principles of democracy and open access to information.
Its you who needs to think before commenting.

Tantameni spoilt Zambians and this is why foriegners come here and thrive while you whine and groan all day everyday. CNN and BBC will broadcast the Judgement and you will be crying instead of the Private media coming in as a constortium and buy the re-broadcast rights selling them to the foriegn press.

Do you think every manner of journalist would fit in a court? Sometimes people need to sit down and think before commenting.
A typical example is how the US Presidential debates were conducted. One company hosted and anyone else who wanted rights bought from that company. And it rotates to give equal opportunity.
Rights have been granted to ZNBC why cant the Private Media buy the rights to RE-BROADCAST? The problem in Zambia is entitlement and a lack of creative initiative. Once one sings in B minor the rest will follow suit without using their God given brain to think outside the box.

Where does one appeal if you see wrongdoing in this case?

The Zambian Media are sleepy. This is the time for you to file a RIGHT TO KNOW claim to the High Court. In a Democracy like ours people have a right to know and the media should be in the forefront of fighting for this.

Does the constitution give power to Chief Justice Malila and Police Chief Musamba to supervise Media in reporting on any court case?
