Mwanawasa is overrated. He was a big beneficiary of HIPC and MDRI. Instead of Zambia benefitting we were implicated in the oil scandal

Planes fly and spray these clouds to make rain. It’s the 21st century. We shouldnt be crying when faced with a hurdle

And looking for two chiefs whom someone believes can make rain. If these are real rain makers why have they allowed this drought to cause such suffering.

They accept and implement whatever they’re told without thinking, even if the negative consequences are clear and there’s a better option. If you challenge them to a debate they’ll tell that you can’t argue with the IMF. They end up attending every nondescript traditional ceremony as they beat their chest that they’re working hard. Big machine? My foot!

@Deja Vu Its sad that Zambia imports copper wires and bullets. Also, Zambia has plenty of sun and copper; Why then dont we have a thriving solar panel industry?
We import even Plumbing Pipes, cookware and Fittings when we could be manufacturing these for export at a large-scale. Why dont we make Electric Motors and Generators: We could be a leading market for COMESA, if not the whole world, for Printed circuit boards (PCBs) and semiconductor devices which we order from Japan and Europe. Our leadership has zero initiative except attending cultural ceremonies.

Then who led you back to them? Who wants to come back and pretend that he can deal with inflation and the draught driven hunger?
Its important to follow the “dots” and not make abstract assertion.
The IMF didnt wander in alone. Neither did Zesco or the state accure the “neck binding” debt default. Someone acted in the name of the state and lied that there would put more money in your pocket. That was the beging of the undoing of any great work that was done by Mwanamwasa.

How did the Arabs manage to be able to manage their resources……brains…here we only know how to fight for survival as presidents.

Hence, Magande’s mandate was to make the country self sustainable from the IMF crooked policies. Their structure programmes enabled Zambia not be puppets of the IMF but made Zambia to have a say in all it’s functioning sectors. Musokotwane is useless even Magande complained about him when Rupiah Banda appointed him MOF in 2009 after Mwanawasa died.
