All African Governments seem to have short memories. Certain individuals even if they are Pastors now, can not be allowed even to be a cleaner at a Government institution. Government is not an Heavenly body. It is a human institution to run affairs on behalf of its citizens. Dag Hammarskjöld as Secretary General of UN, Once said that the UN was not created to take man to HEAVEN, rather to prevent man to go to HELL. similarly with all Governments on Earth. This persecution of opposition political leaders by UPND and ethnic cleansing has gone too far and should stop. It is a sign of failure by the current regime by constantly blaming the previous regime and only delivering services to a pre-selected tribal section of the Zambian community ignoring the suffering majority. They have unleashed the police service against opposition members and those that have critical views. This must stop. We do not need political prisoners!!

I find Mrs Kampyongo’s a person with character. Didnt lie or feign illness or run to some foriegn country to evade Justice. She is facing like “a man” (for lack of a better term). Using due process to fight the matter and navigating the justice system of appeal, though bail has been denied. Abalume….no comment. The Minister has warned me about abuse. So I dont want to be miscontrued in airing my opinion. But respect to Mrs. Kampyongo not ba GBM, Tayali, Kambwili, and Kaizer Zulu who make so much noise only to whine and run.

@UFIMBENUMA, Individuals who find themselves in positions of governing others mus be held accountable for their actions now or later, regardless of their political affiliations. This will foster a Zambia of values, justice and accountability. Yes, correct those in current positions of influence and governance should not be exeptional in transparency and accountability. However, education too matters here to know that these temporal positions of authority do come to an end. Doubt if current leaders in upnd never been to school as was with PF cadres now facing justice.

This article is lopsided. Lusambo’s conviction has no bearing on his being a politician – the court has found him guilty of a crime, period. Neither has his conviction have any drive towards the next elections. The law has its own course, the many circumstances that might stand in the way to judgement notwithstanding. The notion being peddled here that political events might be influenced in due course is neither here nor there.
