I can see Field is not a Christian. I would tell that friend of yours if Jesus came back today who would want to waste time asking him any questions? He would confirm my pastors’ preachings that he is coming so it would mean he has come to take his followers to heaven so why bother formulating questions about earthly life?

Field, the scenario presented by your friend would not occur and even your reflections of slavery lamentations will/would not occur. The scenario made dipicts the current and here now perception.
